Client Situation Gilda’s Club Westchester, located in White Plains, NY, is a regional resource in social and emotional support for people living with cancer, along with their friends and family. The first Gilda’s Club was founded in 1995 in New York City following the death of comedienne, Gilda Radner. Radner, the funny face of NBC’s "Saturday Night Live," died of ovarian cancer in 1989. Gilda’s Club Westchester was founded in 2001 and its greatest challenge since has been moving beyond the Gilda Radner association with ovarian cancer, and on to whole families and the friends of people living with cancer. This is the fourth year of our public relations campaign, with our focus last year on men touched by cancer. We successfully reached out to this important demographic and now work towards embracing the entire family and family network – men, women, children and friends....

The Westchester County Department of Public Works & Transportation retained DDRPR to create a public education campaign called Senior B.E.A.T — Be Educated About Transit Program, which aims to educate the Westchester senior population on how to use the Bee-Line Bus System as a viable travel option in order to “broaden their travel possibilities and restore a sense of involvement in their community.” Senior B.E.A.T. is a program of the Westchester County Department of Public Works & Transportation in cooperation with the Office for Senior Programs and Services and with funding from the New York State Department of Transportation....

Katonah Lewisboro School District: Crisis Communications and Community Awareness/Branding Campaign
The Katonah-Lewisboro School District contacted DDRPR following a failed school budget vote. Our firm was asked to develop a crisis communications campaign that would convince a divided community to vote “yes” when the second vote was held. We created a campaign that focused on the consequences of a contingency budget and the perils of rejecting a second budget. We educated the community about how a contingency budget carried with it a drastic reduction in school programs and resources (something that is commonly unknown)....
